Liam Hurley has been a performer and educator for more than 25 years. He earned his B.M. in Jazz Performance from New York University, and studied Early Childhood Education at Hunter College. Liam has worked in numerous New York City-based theater productions, and toured as the drummer for Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band.

Liam has toured most of the US, Canada, and Europe, with a variety of artists. In 2007, Liam joined forces with songwriter extraordinaire Josh Ritter, and steadily toured with him for a decade. Highlights from this tenure include playing alongside the Boston, Dublin, New York, and Cork Symphonies, as well as several television appearances, including Late Night with David Letterman and Later with Jools Holland. After a protracted dormancy, a forgotten passion crept back into Liam's life: puppets! In 2002, Liam joined Puppets in the Parks, a traveling marionette show that performs over 300 shows a year in NYC schools and parks. Who knew? Liam was also fortunate enough to perform in Erik Sanko's "The Fortune Teller," which met with rave reviews and sold out audiences. It was also a Jeopardy question. Liam kids you not. Look it up. Puppetry led him to a collaboration with bandmate, Sam Kassirer (musician/producer - Great North Sound Society) where they joined creative forces to make memorable music videos for many artists, including The Curse by Josh Ritter.

As Liam was building his family, he became a co-founder of the kids’ music group, the Big Littles, which led to the creation of Mr. Liam in 2016. He has performed throughout the Northeast as Mr. Liam, creating an educational and fun music experience for children combining his original love of drums with ukelele, looping pedals, humor, and of course, bubbles!
